Anxiety Diagnosis & Treatment

Anxiety can be the result of a number of different underlying conditions including post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, or generalized anxiety disorder.

It’s characterized by fear, chronic worry, and an inability to effectively manage relationships or situations in a healthy manner.

While mild anxiety can usually be dealt with by some simple relaxation or breathing techniques, more severe anxiety may need professional treatment.

In many cases, anxiety can be greatly reduced by talking with a counselor or therapist or joining a support group with others who suffer from a similar condition.

This type of anxiety treatment can provide life skills management, relaxation techniques, meditation training, or cognitive behavioral therapy. In some extreme cases, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) medications such as Zoloft, Celexa, or Lexapro may be prescribed.

Stress Diagnosis & Treatment

Some stress is normal to experience. However, extreme stress that affects your daily life and moods is not something you should consider normal and can have very negative consequences on your health.

If you do not have effective stress management techniques or you have another condition such as anxiety or depression that compromises your ability to effectively manage stress, you may need some assistance from a professional.

How to Naturally Avoid Anxiety Stress and Depression?

When you meet with a stress management specialist, you can learn calming exercises like meditation, deep breathing, and yoga. You can also learn the underlying causes of your stress and how to make changes to your lifestyle to reduce the amount of stress you experience. If you have an underlying mood disorder that is affecting your stress levels, a counselor may be able to help you with cognitive behavioral therapy sessions, group therapy, or prescription medications.

Depression Diagnosis & Treatment

Depression can be closely linked with anxiety and stress or it can be a mood disorder that exists on its own. Those with clinical depression may find it difficult to get out of bed in the morning or handle the challenges of daily life.

Even mild depression can have an adverse effect on an individual’s enjoyment of life and may have a negative impact on their close relationships and career.

Those who suffer from depression may feel that they will be stigmatized if they seek help and avoid getting the professional assistance they need to feel better.

It’s imperative that those who are suffering from depression symptoms seek out treatment.

These symptoms include:

  • Insomnia
  • Extreme fatigue
  • Trouble focusing
  • Loss of interest in enjoyable activities
  • Anger
  • Isolation

Depending on the cause of the depression and the symptoms, treatments for the mood disorder can include counseling, group therapy, magnetic stimulation of certain areas of the brain, or prescription medications. Many times, several treatment techniques are used together to treat an individual’s symptoms, especially if depression is exacerbated by anxiety or other conditions.

I have been suffering from depression for as long as i can remember. Life has never been easy and with my social anxiety making it harder for me to interact with anyone it makes my depression that much stronger. I put up a happy strong front in front of everyone but the truth is I am scared and I am tired of everything, I want to just break down and call it quits. I feel useless and worthless because everyone that claims to love me and be there for me ends up leaving me like i never meant a thing. Most of the things in this article relate to me in one way or another.. mood swings are a major part of my life and lets not even get started on stress. I am always caught between wanting to get help to be a better version of myself and not getting help because i like to believe that i am strong enough to get through it on my own. Unfortunately, it has been so many years and I have yet to see improvement on my confidence. I have about 4 dogs that make me feel better when I am with them but I can’t take them with me everywhere i go. Most times i just wish i didn’t feel this way but I do and there is nothing I can do to stop myself from feeling this way. I got in contact with EZcare and they informed me that they could help me with medications that would stabilize my mood and could eventually help me feel better. I plan on commenting again and updating on the med

Generally i tend to be a very strong person… most people ask themselves how I can be so cold/ numb to many devastating things that they assume would knock me down. I never thought the day would come when i would just be so broken that I would just question my beating heart. They say life is hard and that some days are better than others but they don’t tell you that sometimes all bad situations could hit you at once. I lost someone I gave my all to.. I showed them every piece of myself hoping that they could somehow love something i hadn’t yet known how to. All i seem to hear from everyone around me are stupid uplifting quotes that are meant to keep you up float but….How do “get back up” if you were never up… How do you “keep your head up” if it has never been there… How do you “Just keep swimming” if you were always drowning. I have spent all my adulthood trying to be strong and trying to be there for everyone around me so that they stick around long enough to teach me to love myself for the qualities they see in me but it never seems to work. Everyone leaves me so easily that it makes me feel as if i were nothing.. and maybe that is why everyone leaves. I lost a family member that would always give me a reason to smile… what do i do now? I lost my oldest friend .. i lost my happiness. i lost my confidence.; i lost myself.. all i had was hope and now without these people hope is lost. Medications could never mend my broken soul, perhaps they could numb me and temporarily make me feel sane enough to live another day…
